St Mary's Room at Ticehurst Church

A new addition to St Mary's Church, Ticehurst, in 2010 is this versatile room for use by all our community.

This extension has been added in keeping with the church itself. The church has change and been added to over the centuries and this is the latest change to this church.

The children's window that was previously in the church had been re-sited to the prime position facing westwards in this new room. This really shows this stained glass window at its best.

The room has the ability to seat up to 30 people. It has a small and very well equipped kitchen with industrial (quick) dishwasher and boiling water tap for easy tea and coffee making.

We all hope and expect this room to be a well used asset within our community. It is available for anyone to hire for £7 per hour [correct as of March 2010]. See our who's who page for details on who to contact to hire it (you can always contact our vicar if there is no-one currently listed).

It is already being used regularly by:

The room has also been used for many other purposes, both church uses and general community uses including:
  • Local British Legion AGM,
  • Confirmation classes,
  • Alpha courses,
  • Children's Parties,
  • Christening Parties,
  • Funeral Wake / Reception

Fridays at 10am from now until November 2010 Tidebrook Music group for preschool children will be using this new room until Frant Church Hall is rebuilt hopefully by November 2010.
