Church Service Descriptions

There are a variety of services at our two churches. Below are description of some of the services as offered at Ticehurst & Flimwell churches. More descriptions will appear in time. If there is a specific service that is not described here that occurs at our churches and you would like to see it described or you have any comments on our website please contact the webmaster. Regular Services at our Churches and School

Ticehurst Services (see also Ticehurst & Flimwell service):

8.00am Holy Communion (every Sunday and Wednesday 10.00am)
This is a service of about 40 mins. It is without music and concentrates on the traditional words of the Book of Common Prayer leading to a sharing of The Lord's Supper.
 
9.30am All Age Informal (1st Sunday of month)
The other end of the spectrum for ages 0-100!  Music and praise with a theme and some "specials". About 30 mins.
 
11.00am Parish Communion and Junior Church (1st and 3rd Sunday of month)
A service of Holy Communion using Common Worship launched in year 2000. Flexibility in prayers and approach. Junior Church available within service. About 1 hour.
 
11.00am Morning Prayer and Junior Church (2nd Sunday of month)
Formerly known as Matins and again from the traditional Book of Common Prayer. Junior Church available within service. About 1 hour.
 
11.00am All Age Service (4th Sunday of month)
A longer and slightly more structured service for the full age spectrum. About 45 mins. Refreshments after .

6.30pm Evensong
Finishes The Lord's Day. Normally traditional Evening prayer from Book of Common Prayer but some specials like "Songs of Praise" and "Taize" services.

Ticehurst & Flimwell service:

4.30pm Cafe Church at Primary School (3rd Sunday of month - excluding August)
An exciting innovation. An opportunity for worship and learning in a relaxed atmosphere. About 1 hour.
From 3:30pm until 4:25pm there be football and touch rugby and other outdoor activities.

Flimwell Services (see also Ticehurst & Flimwell service): 

9.30am  All age Informal Holy Communion (2nd Sunday of month) - In St Mary's Room
A service using the flexibility of Common Worship culminating in sharing the Lord's Supper. Our family service is a friendly informal service with a chance for the children to get involved. It lasts just over half an hour and finishes with tea and coffee and biscuits as we chat.The order of service gives you an insight into its content.


 
9.30am Holy Communion (4th Sunday of month)
A slightly "higher" Church approach to Holy Communion
