Ticehurst

Our Mission action plan for 2008-2009 is to focus particularly on
Discerning God’s heart for Ticehurst and Flimwell by:

  1. Praying and worshipping together to seek God’s guidance, blessing and encouragement.
    1. Aim to continue the ‘Prayer project’ past May and broaden its prayer focus.
    2. Aim to have a PCC away day to pray and worship together, seeking God’s guidance.
    3. To develop the pew sheet as a resource for prayer.
  2. Enthusiastically bring to fruition the wonderful vision of a new resource, the extension to St Mary’s Ticehurst.
    1. To develop the building project as laid out in the document entitled ‘Key actions and dates’.
    2. Set up a working group at the first PCC after the APCM that will consider and progress new ideas that are possible with this new resource.
  3. Seeking to present opportunities to those on the fringe and beyond that start or develop their faith in Jesus.
    1. Aim to develop a network of visitors who take God’s love into the community
    2. To have an annual Service of Remembrance for those who have died during the year (All Saints day, November 2nd suggested)
    3. To continue with the Alpha course (or other Christianity explored courses)
    4. To encourage regular Bible study groups
    5. To have newcomers tea parties on Sunday afternoons (Aim initially for twice a year)
  4. Developing further the range of activities and services on offer
    1. Aim to grow and develop the Junior Church, the All age/ Family service and the Children’s service.
    2. Working with Ticehurst and Flimwell School seek to develop a children’s choir/dance group which will sing/dance at specific Services.
In 2009-2010 we believe God is calling us to focus particularly on:

Building Christian community through us working together as a team using our various gifts.
Consider options for new Services which increase the range of styles and times on offer.

In 2010 -2011 our focus will probably be:

To seek to reach out to all parts of the community with the love of God, making sure that the church community is fully representative of the wider community.
