Baptisms, Christenings
Baptism is a visible sign of God’s love. In baptism, we are thanking God for his gift of life and publicly acknowledging his love. We are recognizing that we need to make a new start with God. At St Mary’s Church of Ticehurstwe welcome adults and children to take this important step in their Christian life.
In infant baptism (Christening), you as parents are: thanking God for his gift of life and deciding to start your child on the journey of faith, asking for the Church's support in this.
A baptism service is held on every 5th Sunday of the month at Ticehurst Church. Baptisms are not restricted to these services.

Thanksgiving
We are pleased to be able to offer a service of Thanksgiving for the life of a child. Thanksgivings take place during our regular services and provide an opportunity to pray publicly for your child and family life. Thanksgivings are normally offered for those who want their children to choose for themselves to be baptised later in life and for those who feel unable to make the promises and commitments of baptism.
